Important Pre-Arrival Information
To make your stay at Doane Rest more pleasant and enjoyable, please take time to read this important pre-arrival information:
Making Initial Contact
If you have specific time in mind for your vacation or retreat, we encourage you to contact us at least two months prior to your desired date of arrival, to ensure the reservation of your desired vacation dates. While we do our best to accommodate emergency or last minute requests, we do ask that you make your reservations at least 48-72 hours in advance so we can better serve your needs and ensure that your cottage is prepared for your arrival. Please use the online form on the “Reservations” page.
Confirming Your Reservation
Once you submit the Reservation Form, we will reply by email to your booking request. We will hold your booking up to two weeks.
No-Shows & Delays
In the event that your arrival will be delayed by 24 hours or more, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. If we are not notified of your delayed arrival, we can only guarantee your reservation for 24 hours before it is offered to others who are on the waiting list.
Early / Late Arrivals
Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to arrive earlier than 1pm or after 6pm so we can have staff available to expedite the preparation of your cottage or meet your arrival needs after-hours.
Check-In / Check-Out
Please plan your travel accordingly so you can check-in between 1:00pm and 6:00pm (Monday – Saturday). Please check-out before 10am as this allows our staff adequate time to prepare the cottage for the next group of guests. If you require a late check-in our check-out please inform management at least 24 hours in advance.
Sunday Arrivals / Departures
We normally do not allow Sunday arrivals as we do not employ staff on Sundays, however in an emergency situation we will do our best to accommodate a Sunday afternoon check-in.
Weather Caution
Make sure you pack adequate clothing for the local, mountain weather. The temperature in Baguio is 5-10 degrees C cooler than the lowlands, and can be quite chilly in the evenings. Bring your umbrella also as late afternoon showers are not uncommon.
When You Arrive
Please ring buzzer 2 times to alert our staff to your arrival. Taxi drivers do not generally close the gates when they exit, so please make sure one of your party is available to close the gates when they leave.
What to Expect at Doane Rest
Each of our six cottages and apartments has a fully furnished kitchen with gas range, refrigerator, microwave oven, dishes, pots, pans & utensils. All cottages and apartments have hot & cold running water. Three cottages have 3 bedrooms and a fireplace, one cottage has 2 bedrooms and a fireplace, one apartment has 1½ bedrooms and a corner fireplace, one apartment has 1 bedroom and a woodstove. Outside we have beautifully landscaped gardens, a half basketball court, a grass soccer/volleyball play area, swings, curved slide, glider swing, climbing bars and sandbox available for fun & enjoyment. The Social Hall has a fireplace, table tennis, shuffle board, & a variety of books & magazines.
Port-a-cribs, high chairs & youth chairs are available in limited number. Please request on your Reservation Form if needed.
Other Important Notes
Alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs and tobacco products are strictly prohibited on the premises.
As a courtesy to other guests, pets are not allowed. Please inform us ahead of time if you have a ‘helper’ dog. They are always welcome!
Baguio City does enforce vehicle coding. No drive days are differentiated noting the last digit of the vehicle license plate. They are as follows:
3 or 4 = Tuesday
5 or 6 = Wednesday
7 or 8 = Thursday
9 or 0 = Friday
